HARMONY GARDEN PLANTING AND POT LUCK DINNER

Come and join us at 3pm on Sunday, May 20th as we all work to plant Harmony’s Mission Garden. If you enjoy gardening or would like to learn how to plant a garden, this is the event for you. This is a great opportunity for even our youngest to help serve the church and our community. Food from the garden will go to help the hungry in our community through local food banks. We may even arrange to have a day of canning to help families through the winter months.

To help celebrate our new garden and the many hands that come together to help, a pot luck dinner will be served at 5:00pm. The Youth Group will provide a barbeque for our main dish, and we are asking for everyone to please bring a side dish or a dessert.

The Youth of Harmony UMC are hosting this two day scrapbooking event to help raise money for their mission trip this summer and for the youth ministry program.

What you can expect:

* Dinner and snacks Friday night.

* Saturday: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

* Goodie Bags

* Door Prizes

* Make and Takes

* Use of Cricut Expression machine

* We will have several vendors on site available for your shopping needs.

UMM YARD SALE/MISSIONS BAKE SALE – MAY 19TH

The UMM will hold their seasonal yard sale along with the Missions Committee Bake Sale on Saturday, May 19th, from 8am-1pm. If you would like to make a donation to the sale, you can start bringing your items to the church on Thursday, May 17th. If you have items that need to be picked up and brought to the church, please contact Greg Wilmoth at 540-338-2339 or Doug Evans at 703-401-2519. All baked goods can be brought on Friday, May 18th or Saturday morning. Marsha will be busy the week before baking her wonderful homemade treats and she can always use some extra hands in the kitchen.

HARMONY PRESCHOOL FUNDRAISER – May 10th

On Thursday, May 10th, if you dine in or carry out from Lowry’s Crab Shack in Hamilton between the hours of 5pm and 9pm, Harmony Preschool will receive a percentage of the sales during that time. So give yourself another break from cooking dinner and take the family out to support our Harmony Preschool

BACKPACK MEAL PROGRAM

The high school youth have expanded their backpack meal program to include Lincoln Elementary as well as Hamilton Elementary. Every Sunday night the youth are packing meals for 11 children to provide food for them for the following weekend. On a regular weekend that adds up to 77 meals that Harmony UMC is helping to provide for the children in our community. We appreciate the tremendous donations of food that everyone at Harmony has helped to provide. We thank you for your support and we will continue to need your food donations to help fill the backpacks for the children of these two schools.

Food needed for backpacks:
Juice boxes
Microwaveable individual meals (mac and cheese cups, soup, pasts meals, rice meals)
Fruit cups
Cheese & cracker packs, peanut butter cracker packs
Tuna salad and chicken salad packs
Breakfast items
Granola bars
